Eleanor Ogilvie is a Programme Manager with See Me (https://www.seemescotland.org/), Scotland’s programme to tackle mental health stigma and discrimination. When I spoke to her about her motivation for taking part in u.lab she spoke of looking for something that would help her with big system change around ending mental health stigma for people with mental health issues in Scotland.
When she carried out the sensing the field activity, however, she told me that what she saw was not a vision of something which would help her challenge mental health stigma as she expected but was instead something deeply personal and that the effect of this on her was profound, making her reflect on the important role of the self and the internal locus of where an individual is coming from.
